H&C Milan
H & C Milan is an entrepreneurial business that epitomises Banque Heritage’s core strategy of adaptive innovation. When the private owners of Camuzzi sold its Italian gasometry interests in 2000, H & C Milan was formed as one of the first family offices in Italy. Combining the financial experience and diligence of Banque Heritage with the long standing relationships and considerable liquidity of Camuzzi, H & C Milan employed the talents of the original Camuzzi in-house finance team, and has developed strengths in consultancy for corporate finance, real estate, and fiscal and asset management.

Initially concentrating on its role as a single family office, H & C Milan has taken on additional family advisory roles and now also works with institutional clients. Banque Heritage’s open architecture approach yields many benefits, promoting work on a referral basis through the Camuzzi network and beyond.

The resource base of H & C Milan has deepened further with the participation of Medivest, an involvement that brings a wider range of shareholders – and potential clients – to the table.

Francesco Sogaro
General Manager

Educated at Bocconi University, Francesco worked on the Italian stock exchange before taking on the mantle of his family business, which he sold in 1999. With a growing interest in hedge funds – which were not permitted in Italy until 2000 – he structured an early alternative asset management company for the Italian market, but circumstances turned him instead to another opportunity: the pioneering of the family office in Italy.

As a founding partner of H & C Milan, it was Francesco’s proposal with Banque Heritage to Camuzzi that established the business. In addition to co-running the organisation, he retains a seat on the Advisory Board of Banque Heritage and also exercises his entrepreneurial appetite as a managing partner of Atlantis Capital Special Situations, an organisation investing in distressed and turnaround situations.
