The Gulf is no longer a territory stuck in dependence on hydrocarbons. Since the fall in oil prices in 2014, several countries in the region, notably Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Qatar, have stepped up their efforts to diversify their economies. Their ambition? To establish themselves as key players in the global economy of tomorrow.
